The Russian stock market is growing at the opening

At the start of the trading session on Wednesday, the Moscow Exchange index is growing by 0.3%, the RTS – by 0.5%. Positive dynamics is observed for key blue chips, with the second tier lagging behind.

Brent crude oil has lost 0.4% since the opening and is close to $ 66.3 per barrel. The volatility of quotations of black gold has recently increased due to fears of new lockdowns. In India, the third largest oil importer in the world, daily infections and deaths are peaking. Market participants fear that the country may resume the quarantine regime, which will negatively affect fuel consumption.

The USD / RUB rate is down 0.1% and is traded at 76.7. A slight decrease in geopolitical tension has an effect. In the context of relatively high oil prices, the potential for ruble appreciation is present.

En + shares have been growing since the opening (+ 2.1%). Earlier, there was an outstripping market dynamics for RUSAL shares, but there was no comparable reaction in the holding that controls the aluminum company. The current movement can be called a natural catch-up overestimation.

The fifth day continues to rise in shares of Petropavlovsk (+ 1.1%). The weak operating report for the first quarter was quickly digested by the market, as the deterioration in performance was expected. Quotes are supported by a rebound in gold.

MMK shares are growing 1% after the publication of the financial report for the first quarter and recommendations on dividends. The results are strong in light of the steel price increase at the beginning of the year, but the quarterly dividend was under pressure from strong growth in net working capital.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will announce a message to the Federal Assembly today. Recommendations on dividends will be given by Magnit, Lukoil, Polyus, Enel Russia. Reports to be presented in the USA Financial reports to be presented by Halliburton, Verizon Communications, Nextera Energy
