May 17. FINMARKET.RU – Additional expenses of airlines due to the rise in prices for jet fuel this year may amount to about 70 billion rubles, Izvestia writes, citing an estimate of the S7 Group. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, since the beginning of the year, the cost of fuel at the country’s largest airports has grown by about 20%. To stabilize the situation, the FAS suggested that carriers use exchange and over-the-counter indicators when purchasing kerosene, as well as increase the liquidity of exchange trading in fuel. This is stated in a letter from the Ministry of Transport to the Association of Air Transport Operators (AEVT), which the department asks to consider the proposals of the FAS. Experts believe that the formula pricing proposed by the antimonopoly service will allow carriers to mitigate price risks when purchasing jet fuel.
