The Moscow Exchange is holding at 3400, the dollar – at 75

Russian indices are growing at the opening of trading on Wednesday. Growth is modest at 0.3%, and so far this week the Moscow Exchange index remains flat at 3400, slightly above three-week lows.

External background in the morning is neutral. S&P 500 futures are slightly in the red, while high-tech Nasdaq rallies following Microsoft’s report. Oil is growing 0.7% to $ 56.3 per barrel of Brent amid data on the decline in US oil inventories from the API.

On the Russian market, the leaders are VSMPO-AVISMA (+ 2%) and Sistema (+ 1.1%). Heavy shares of Sberbank, LUKOIL, Gazprom are growing within 0.3%.

Metals prices are slightly down in the morning. Shares of Rusal (-0.7%) and Polymetal (-0.3%) are falling.

The dollar against the ruble is held in the area of ​​75, after at the beginning of the week it renewed the maximums of 2021 and almost reached 76. Today, the USD / RUB pair is decreasing by 0.11%.

The RGBI government bond index is growing by 0.15%.

Today, market participants expect many important events: Putin’s speech at the Davos Agenda online forum, reports from Apple, Facebook, Tesla, operational results of OKEY, PhosAgro, the Fed meeting.
