The volume of the monetary base in a narrow definition in Russia as of May 6 amounted to 14 trillion 355.5 billion rubles, the press service of the Bank of Russia reported. As of April 29, the monetary base in Russia amounted to 14 trillion 454.8 billion rubles. Thus, over the period it decreased by 0.69%, or by 99.3 billion rubles. The monetary base in the narrow definition includes cash issued by the Bank of Russia (taking into account balances in the cash desks of credit institutions) and balances on the accounts of required reserves for funds attracted by credit institutions in national currency deposited with the Central Bank.
