January 27. FINMARKET.RU – Prices for Russian-made electronics may rise by 20-50%, the companies simplified to Izvestia reported. The main contribution to the formation of the shortage of microcircuits was made by the world leaders of the consumer electronics market, said Oleg Kim, General Director of GS Nanotech. Faced with signs of component shortages during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic, major companies rushed to increase orders for various parts (primarily chips) at semiconductor factories, he explained. So vendors tried to ensure themselves a surplus of components to meet the demand for smartphones, tablets, laptops and computers. In 2020, the demand for these product categories only grew as many people were forced to organize work and study at home. “The resulting avalanche increase in orders is the main reason for the component shortage,” Kim said.
