July 22. FINMARKET.RU – The Union of Consumers has proposed to fight food waste in cafes and restaurants, as well as at official business events. We are talking about the extra waste that is generated if the guests have not finished the ordered meals. According to the authors of the initiative, in practice, it is possible to give visitors to establishments the right to independently choose the size of the portion. For example, to give the opportunity to order a conditionally normal portion that meets the recommendations for the average consumer, as well as a reduced or increased portion. Now this approach is adopted at fast food enterprises. This is stated in a letter from the chairman of the Union of Consumers of the Russian Federation, Pyotr Shelishch, to Rospotrebnadzor on June 22, Izvestia writes.
