June 10th. FINMARKET.RU – The supply of cheap sugar to the Russian Federation was under threat, because some manufacturers have had problems obtaining subsidies. This issue was discussed at the Ministry of Industry and Trade on June 8, three participants in the meeting told Vedomosti. They remind that since the end of December, some of the sugar in retail chains has been sold at a selling price of no more than 36 rubles / kg. This value was fixed by agreements on price stabilization between manufacturers, retailers and the government: it was in effect until the end of May. After that, the Ministry of Agriculture agreed with manufacturers to maintain similar conditions for sugar from June 1 to the end of September 2021. To stimulate supplies, the government allocated subsidies to factories at the rate of 5 rubles. per kilogram of products, in total – by 600 thousand tons.
