Payments may be limited in the Russian Federation "suspiciously" poor families

March 12. FINMARKET.RU – The scheme of the largest poverty alleviation program in the Russian Federation, supporting families with children aged three to seven, is being adjusted for 2021, becoming more targeted and will be more effective in relation to families remaining in the program, writes Kommersant. … The Ministry of Labor, after appeals from the regions and NGOs, proposes to restrict the receipt of payments to families with formally low incomes and significant family property by Russian standards throughout the Russian Federation. At the same time, the amount of “children’s” payments per child from April 1 will increase to 75-100% of the subsistence minimum, if the basic amount of payments still does not allow the family to go beyond the poverty line.
