The total assets of Chinese financial institutions stood at 396.39 trillion yuan ($59.23 trillion) at the end of March, up 8.7% year-on-year, according to data from the People’s Bank of China. Including the assets of the banking sector rose by 8.6% and reached 357.9 trillion yuan. For companies dealing with securities, this indicator increased by 18.8% – up to 12.81 trillion yuan. The insurance sector recorded an increase in assets by 5.8% – up to 25.67 trillion yuan, the Xinhua agency cites data from the NBK.
