May 17. FINMARKET.RU – Rosfinmonitoring and the Central Bank opposed the use of a driver’s license for full identification of a person when receiving financial services. Although this method promised to be popular and convenient for citizens, the level of protection of a driver’s license is sufficient only for simplified identification, regulators believe, Kommersant writes, having familiarized itself with the position of Rosfinmonitoring regarding the initiative of the National Financial Market Council (NSFR) and the Skolkovo Foundation in part amendments to the anti-money laundering law (115-FZ). The authors of the amendments proposed to expand the list of documents proving the identity of a citizen when conducting financial transactions by including a driver’s license. The amendments were submitted to the State Duma in February 2021, and at the moment they have already been approved in the first reading.
